1 概览 — 迷雾之地前终局护甲

Padded Armor Set

Difficulty: ★★★★☆ — Advanced Armor
Plains 26 Armor 3 Pieces Iron + Linen Pre-Mistlands

3 Materials & Locations

Each material listed with exact source, biome location, processing requirements, and farming strategy.

⚒ Iron

Source: Muddy Scrap Piles in Sunken Crypts
Biome: Swamp (requires Swamp Key from The Elder to enter crypts)
Drop Rate: 8-12 Scrap per pile, plus Leather Scraps and Withered Bones
Processing: Smelt Iron Scrap at Smelter → 1 Scrap = 1 Iron bar
Farming Tips: A single Sunken Crypt typically contains 15-25 Muddy Scrap Piles, yielding enough Iron for multiple armor pieces. Use a Bronze Mace or Iron Mace against Blobs and Oozers. Bring Poison Resistance Mead — the Swamp's poison enemies are relentless. Each crypt respawns when the area is unloaded for sufficient time.

⚒ Flax (Raw Material)

Source: Flax plants found in Fuling villages or farmed from cultivated soil
Biome: Plains (Fuling villages have pre-grown Flax fields)
Yield: 2 Flax per plant when harvested by hand; 2 Flax per plant when cultivated
Farming Tips: The safest method is to sneak into Fuling villages at dawn and harvest Flax from their fields without engaging enemies. For a renewable supply: collect Barley alongside Flax (they grow together in village farms) → Build a Cultivator (unlocked with Bronze) → Plant Flax in Plains biome soil near your base → Water is not required in Valheim; crops grow based on time and biome suitability. Flax ONLY grows in Plains biome — planting it elsewhere will fail.

⚒ Linen Thread

Source: Spinning Wheel (crafting station)
Recipe: 2 Flax → 1 Linen Thread
Processing Time: ~30 seconds per Linen Thread at the Spinning Wheel
Unlock Condition: Build a Spinning Wheel (requires Fine Wood + Iron Nails from Forge)
Farming Tips: Build multiple Spinning Wheels (2-3) to process Flax in parallel. The Spinning Wheel works automatically once loaded — place Flax in its input slot and it will produce Linen Thread over time. You need 13 Linen Thread for the base set plus additional amounts for upgrades. At 2 Flax per thread, farm a minimum of 40+ Flax to cover all needs.

4 Optimal Collection Route

Follow this biome-by-biome progression to efficiently gather all materials and craft the full Padded Armor Set. This route assumes you have defeated Moder and have access to the Plains biome.

Step 1: Swamp — Iron Ore Collection

Sail to the Swamp biome → Enter Sunken Crypts (requires Swamp Key from The Elder) → Mine Muddy Scrap Piles with any pickaxe → Collect Iron Scrap, Leather Scraps, and Withered Bones → You need approximately 60+ Iron Scrap for the full Padded set plus upgrades → Smelt at your Smelter. If you already have an Iron stockpile from previous Swamp trips, skip this step.

Step 2: Plains — Establish a Farming Outpost

Sail to the Plains biome → Locate a Fuling village with Flax and Barley fields → Clear nearby threats (Deathsquitos, Fuling patrols) → Build a small fortified outpost with a Portal for fast travel → Use a Cultivator to plant stolen Flax in cultivated soil nearby → Build a Spinning Wheel at this outpost. The Plains outpost serves as your Linen Thread production center for the rest of the game.

Step 3: Plains — Harvest Flax and Barley

Wait for your cultivated Flax to grow (approximately 2-3 in-game days) → Harvest all mature Flax plants (2 Flax per plant) → Target 40+ Flax to cover the full set and upgrades → Also harvest Barley for food recipes and Blackmetal Sword crafting. If your farm is insufficient, supplement by raiding additional Fuling village fields.

Step 4: Base — Spin Flax into Linen Thread

Transport all harvested Flax to your Spinning Wheel → Load 2 Flax per cycle → Wait for processing (30 seconds per thread) → Collect Linen Thread. With a single Spinning Wheel, 40 Flax takes ~10 minutes of real time. Building 2-3 Spinning Wheels cuts this to 3-5 minutes. You need 13 Linen Thread for the base set plus 6-9 more for upgrades.

Step 5: Forge — Craft and Upgrade

Upgrade your Forge to Level 2 → Craft Padded Helmet (10 Iron + 3 Linen Thread) → Craft Padded Cuirass (10 Iron + 5 Linen Thread) → Craft Padded Greaves (10 Iron + 5 Linen Thread) → Upgrade all pieces to Level 5 at a Workbench using additional Iron and Linen Thread. Full upgraded set = 78 total armor. You are now Plains-ready.

5 Gotcha Tips — Don't Waste Your Time

These mistakes will send you back to spawn without armor. Read this before starting your Plains expedition.

⚠️ FLAX ONLY GROWS IN THE PLAINS BIOME

This is the most common Padded Armor mistake. Players bring Flax seeds back to their Meadows or Black Forest base and plant them — they will never grow. Flax has a strict biome requirement and only grows in Plains soil. Your farming outpost MUST be in the Plains. Build it there with a Portal for access. Do not waste time trying to grow Flax elsewhere.

⚠️ DEATHSQUITOS WILL ONE-SHOT YOU

Deathsquitos — tiny flying insects in the Plains — deal 90+ damage per hit and attack in swarms. Even with Iron Armor, you can die in one hit. Before farming Flax in Plains: scout the area thoroughly, mark Deathsquito spawn points on your map, and build your outpost outside their patrol routes. Carry a bow to snipe them from a distance — they die in 1-2 hits but must be killed before they reach you.

⚠️ FULING VILLAGES ARE DANGEROUS — BE SNEAKY

Fuling villages contain 8-15 Fulings of various types, including Berserkers with massive health pools. Do NOT attempt to clear a village on your first Plains visit. Instead, sneak around the perimeter at dawn, harvest Flax from the fields, and retreat. Use the Torches around village edges as navigation markers — Flax grows between the torches and the village buildings.

⚠️ THE SPINNING WHEEL IS NOT INSTANT

Unlike the Smelter and Charcoal Kiln which produce output immediately when fueled, the Spinning Wheel takes approximately 30 seconds of real time per Linen Thread. Loading 40 Flax into a single Spinning Wheel means 10+ minutes of waiting. Build 2-3 Spinning Wheels and load them simultaneously to parallel-process your Flax stockpile. This is the single biggest time-saver for Padded Armor crafting.

⚠️ IRON FROM SWAMP CRYPTS IS THE BOTTLENECK

You need 30 Iron bars just for the base set, plus 12-20 more for upgrades. A single Sunken Crypt yields 15-25 Iron Scrap. This means you need to fully clear 2-3 Sunken Crypts for the full Padded Armor set. If you already cleared crypts during your Bronze Age, they may have respawned by now (requires the area to be unloaded for several in-game days). Mark all crypt locations on your map for efficient revisiting.

⚠️ DO NOT SKIP PADDED ARMOR FOR CARCASE ARMOR

Some players attempt to rush straight from Wolf Armor to Carapace Armor, skipping Padded entirely. This is a risky strategy. Carapace Armor requires defeating The Queen in the Mistlands, which is one of the hardest boss encounters in the game. Padded Armor (78 total armor) provides adequate protection for the entire Plains biome and significantly reduces the difficulty of Yagluth and early Mistlands exploration. The investment pays for itself many times over.

⚠️ LOX WILL DESTROY YOUR FARMS

Lox — the massive buffalo-like creatures in the Plains — will trample and destroy any cultivated crops they walk over. When building your Flax farming outpost, construct a fence or ditch around your fields to keep Lox out. A simple trench 2 blocks deep and 2 blocks wide is sufficient — Lox cannot jump across gaps. Without this protection, your entire Flax crop can be wiped out in seconds by a wandering Lox herd.

6 Free Benefits — Loot You Pick Up Along the Way

While exploring the Swamp and Plains for Padded Armor materials, you will pass through areas rich with valuable drops and resources. Don't leave empty-handed.

🎁 Plains: Barley for Food and Weapons

While harvesting Flax from Fuling villages: Collect Barley alongside Flax. Barley is used to craft the two best food items in the base game — Barley Wine (major stamina boost) and Bread (high health regeneration). Barley is also required for Blackmetal Sword crafting. A single Fuling village field typically yields 15-30 Barley — enough for days of cooking.

🎁 Plains: Black Metal Scrap (Early Stockpile)

While establishing your Plains outpost: Kill patrolling Fulings and loot their villages for Black Metal Scrap. Each Fuling drops 1-3 scrap. Start stockpiling early — you will need 20+ Black Metal bars for Carapace Armor and additional amounts for Blackmetal weapons. Building a Blast Furnace (requires defeating Yagluth) early lets you process scrap immediately.

🎁 Plains: Lox Meat and Lox Pelt

While defending your outpost from wildlife: Lox drops Lox Meat (cooks into the highest-tier health food, Lox Meat Pie) and Lox Pelt (used for Lox Cape, a cold-resistant cape that stacks with Wolf Armor). A Lox Cape + Wolf Armor chestpiece combination provides superior cold protection for deep Mountain exploration and late-game content. Lox also drop Lox Trophy for the Plains-tier power surge.

🎁 Swamp: Extra Materials from Crypt Runs

While farming Iron in Sunken Crypts: You will also collect Withered Bones (used to summon Bonemass if you need his power again), Bloodbags from Leeches (craft Poison Resistance Mead and Frost Resistance Mead), and Ancient Bark from Ancient Trees (used for Frostner and Draugr Fang). Sunken Crypts are treasure troves of secondary materials — clear them completely every visit.
